Text Us the Schedule. We'll Build the Calendar.

Take a picture of the paper schedule and text it to your FamilyPilot number. We read every date, time, and place off it and put them on your family's shared calendar — the one already on your phone. No app, nothing to type out.

The season schedule is a photo on your phone.

The coach handed out a printed sheet at the first practice. It went in a bag, then on the fridge, and you took a picture of it on the way to the car so you wouldn't lose it. Twelve weeks of games are sitting in your camera roll right now, and not one of them is on a calendar.

That's the moment FamilyPilot's text line exists for. You don't retype twelve dates into anything. You forward the photo you already took and you're done.

We take it from there — read the sheet, pull out every date, time, and place, and build the events on your family's shared calendar. They show up in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, wherever you already look. If that sounds like the opposite of every family calendar you've tried, that's the point: FamilyPilot is a family calendar with no app to download.

How to turn a texted schedule into calendar events

Four steps, and two of them are just sending a text message. There's nothing to install and nothing to set up beyond saving one number in your contacts.

1

Save your FamilyPilot number

Every family gets its own dedicated number at signup. Save it in your contacts the way you would any other number, and text it from either parent's phone. There is no app to install and no account to sign into.

2

Send whatever you already have

A photo of the paper schedule from the fridge, a screenshot of the team app, a forwarded group text, or a few words you type yourself. If you can send it in a text message, you can send it to us.

3

We read it and build the events

We pull out every date, time, and place, including the ones buried in a photo of a printed sheet. A full season schedule becomes a full season of events, not one long note.

4

Everything lands on your shared calendar

The events appear on your family's shared calendar in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, wherever you already look. Premium and Concierge families also get a confirmation text once the schedule is on.

What families actually text us

These are the kinds of messages that come in on a normal week. None of them were cleaned up first, and none of them needed a second try.

A photo of the printed spring soccer schedule, taken at an angle on a kitchen counter.
Fourteen games added, each with its date, start time, and field.
A screenshot of the team app's calendar view, with next week showing.
Every practice and the Saturday scrimmage added to the shared calendar.
A forwarded group text from a team parent: "Reminder, picture day moved to the 12th, be there 15 min early."
Picture day moved to the 12th, with the early arrival noted in the details.
A typed message: "Emma has a dentist appointment Thursday at 3:15."
One event added, exactly as described.

You don't have to be tidy about it. A crooked photo, glare across half the page, and a crease down the middle are all normal — we're reading for what needs to be on the calendar, not grading the picture. When you can't type at all, call the same number and leave a voicemail instead.

We'd rather ask than guess

If a date on the sheet has no year, a time could be morning or evening, or a field name has no address we recognize, we send you one text asking about it instead of putting a guess on your calendar. It's a single question, and you can answer it with a few words.

And everything we add lands on the calendar you already check, in plain sight. If something ever looks wrong, text us back and we'll fix it.

Straight answers about texting us your schedule

Can I text a photo of my kid's schedule and get a calendar?
Yes. Take a picture of the paper schedule and text it to your FamilyPilot number. We read the dates, times, and locations off the image and add each one to your family's shared calendar. There's no app to download and nothing to type out.
What kinds of things can I text you?
Photos of paper schedules, screenshots from a team app, forwarded group texts, PDFs from the school, or a couple of sentences you type yourself. If it will go through as a text message, we can work with it.
Do I have to type the events out?
No. Typing is optional. Most families just photograph whatever the coach or the school handed them and send the picture, which is the whole point of the text line.
Can you handle a whole season schedule at once?
Yes. A full season sheet becomes a full season of separate events, each with its own date, time, and place. You send one photo and stop thinking about it.
What if the photo is crooked or hard to read?
Send it anyway. Angled shots, glare, and creased paper are normal and we work with them. If something truly can't be read, we text you one question instead of putting a guess on your calendar.
Can both parents text the same number?
Yes. Both parents' phones are on your family account, so either of you can text the same FamilyPilot number and reach the same shared calendar. Whoever gets handed the paper can send it.
Do I need an app to text you my schedule?
No. The text line works from the messaging app already on your phone, with no download, no account, and no setup. FamilyPilot is a service rather than an app.
How soon do the events show up?
Within the hour, and usually well before you'd need them. Premium and Concierge families get a confirmation text once the schedule is added, and urgent conflict alerts go out immediately on every plan the moment we spot one.
